Emmerdale’s Jimmy King (Nick Miles) has got some explaining to do. Shame he’s dead and can’t do it.

Oh well, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) is here and more than happy to do it for him, trashing grieving Nicola King’s (Nicola Wheeler) life in the process. But is she all that she seems?

Sadie arrived back in the village to reveal a whole load of Jimmy King’s secrets – that she and Jimmy had been together for the past three years, that Jimmy had an entire second life, and that he had told her Nicola had run off to live in Hotten with another man!

It seemed completely implausible that Jimmy could be juggling so many balls, as Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) put it, but Sadie corroborated her story with loved-up snaps of her and Jimmy, along with her intimate knowledge of Jimmy’s kids’ lives.

Who knew Jimmy had it in him to have a double life when he can’t even seem to keep his golf clubs straight?

Sadie’s grand entrance and subsequent truth bombs earned her a slap from Nicola, although Nicola had to relent after everything Sadie said started to stack up. Nicola even apologised!

But there are some clues that Sadie isn’t just back to mourn Jimmy. Her card is declined, hinting she’s not as wealthy as she makes out, and she mentions £5,000 that Jimmy was allegedly giving her to buy a handbag.

It’s a shifty story that seems sus from a flashback where she tells Jimmy she ‘appreciates’ the money. Not the normal response to someone who plans to buy you a gift.

Sadie wants that money, and teams up with her ex Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to get it.

Actress Patsy Kensit confirmed to Metro that Sadie’s motivations for being back in the village are more than just to pay her respects. In fact, she’s ‘desperate’, which puts a whole other spin on it.

‘She’s a desperate woman,’ Patsy says. ‘She’s come back for a big reason, and she won’t stop at anything. It’s interesting to see how far she’ll go. And we know Sadie. If she’s got her mind set on something, she’s going to try her hardest.’

Sadie has a plan to get her cash, and it’s to cosy up to Nicola. She’s already made her thaw when she spun things so that Nicola apologised for being cruel. She even has Nicola hating her dead husband.

Now Sadie’ll up her twisted games as she distracts Nicola while swiping her house keys and sets Robert up to burgle the place.

He nearly gets caught but manages to get away, though they’re frustrated that they don’t get what they want. There’s no cash, so it’s back to the drawing board for ideas.

Meanwhile, Sadie is at the Hide befriending Nicola, with Gabby getting caught up in it too and offering to cover their lunch bill, perhaps in part guilt from her part in Jimmy being run of the road.

With their hands empty from the attempted burglary, Robert and Sadie float the idea of visiting Whitby to look for clues, which was Jimmy’s favourite place.

She also has plans to squeeze Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) for the money he stole from her years ago.

Sadie is determined to find the cash and trample all over Nicola in the process. Nicola is still coming to terms with Sadie’s bombshells that Jimmy was living a double life.

Will Sadie get what she wants? And what else is she after?
