FURIOUS Burnley fans confronted flop striker Armando Broja after their team slumped to a 2-1 home defeat to Bristol City.

Turf Moor turned toxic after Championship Clarets failed to hold on to their lead against the high-flying Robins.

Aaron Ramsey had given them the lead, but goals from Rob Dickie and Yu
Hirakawa ensured Burnley stayed rooted to the bottom of the table.

The Clarets are yet to win a league game this season under the management of Nicky Hayden.

After the game, substitute Broja became involved in an argument with disgruntled supporters.

He was shouted at by the fans from behind a fence surrounding the players’ car park.

Broja was told by fans that he has been rubbish for the past year.

He was heard stating: “I’ve been rubbish for a year? I haven’t played all year!”

Broja, 25, allegedly also told them to “shut their f*****g mouth” and
implored the fans to be “respectful”.

The London-born Albanian international has scored just nine goals in
the past five seasons.

He made the move to Burnley last summer in a £20million deal from Chelsea.

He has made five appearances this season but is yet to find the back of the net.

Burnley did not want to comment when contacted by SunSport.

The Clarets will have the chance to start rebuilding their season in their next fixture against Wrexham on Tuesday.

The transfer window saw the club lose a number of star players such as Maxime Esteve, Loum Tchaouna and Florentino.

Zian Flemming made a Deadline Day exit as he returned to the Premier League with Ipswich Town.

The Dutch striker had scored three times in five games before the transfer and leaves a hole in the team’s attack.

Burnley did make some notable additions to the squad such as Reo Hatate from Celtic and former Sheffield United star Anel Ahmedhodzic.
