He was seen fawning over his wife, hand on her back, planting kisses on her cheek, as she looked happily on.

For the most part, Brooklyn didn’t leave his wife’s side, but stepped away as photographers snapped solo pictures of the actress, in her striking gown.

The couple are in the Italian city for the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, with Nicola being given her gong at the corresponding Kinéo Awards.

The event was also attended by Hollywood legend Faye Dunaway who, at age 85, was given a lifetime achievement award.

Nicola and Faye star in upcomig ballet drama Prima, with Nicola refusing to take to the stage to accept her award until her veteran co-star was back in her own seat.

Faye stunned in a black gown ahead of the event in floating city, and Nicola mentioned her in her own speech, calling her an “inspiration”.

The Mail reports that Nicola admitted to being out of her comfort zone as she addressed the audience, saying: “I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me.”

She added: “Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career.”

Turning her attention to her nearest and dearest, who were all in attendance in the gardens of the Casa Cinema Giovani, she said: “My family are my everything.

“My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place.”

Nicola and Brooklyn continue to be embroiled in a family feud with Brooklyn’s family, which has now rumbled on for almost a year.

Ever since Brooklyn let loose on his family in a scathing social media post in January about events that took place at his and Nicola’s wedding, the rift has shown no sign of thawing.
