It’s all change this weekend as WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event hits Atlanta.

September is a packed month for wrestling fans, with AAA TripleMania, Worlds Collide and AEW All Out coming over the next few weeks, each promising something special.

Instead of the Saturday Night’s Main Event fans have come to expect, this time there’s a twist with the event coming on Sunday night, which will mean a late one for us in the UK.

There’s a lot to get excited about, from a WrestleMania rematch and a first-time bout between two future main eventers, to Lil Yatchy making his in-ring debut.

If that wasn’t enough, 9 of the 12 superstars on the card have already been a champion on Raw, SmackDown or NXT.

When is WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event 2026?

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event airs tomorrow (September 6). The special event will start at 1am for fans in the UK.

Why isn’t Sunday Night’s Main Event on Netflix?

In January, it will be two years since Netflix emerged as the official home of WWE in the UK and much of the world outside the US.

Raw, SmackDown and NXT stream live every single week as part of your regular subscription, while the platform also offers access to monthly premium live events like Money In The Bank, Survivor Series, WrestleMania and more.

There are also classic PLEs and documentaries like WWE Unreal, which returned in July for a third season delving into John Cena’s retirement tour and more.

In the US, Saturday Night’s Main Event and this Sunday’s special air on Peacock, and the rights situation means they air internationally on YouTube, in a similar move to the AAA shows.

Celebrities in wrestling haven’t always endeared themselves to fans, and there’s definitely some healthy scepticism each time.

More than anything, as fans we want to see someone who is giving everything to whatever they’re doing, and not taking the mick out of the art form, whether that’s by phoning it in or not taking it seriously.

For every Travis Scott, WWE has been blessed over the last few years with the likes of Logan Paul, Bad Bunny, Jelly Roll and Johnny Knoxville. People who have thrown themselves into this wild world and embrace it wholeheartedly.

Lil Yachty certainly fits the bill there, and I’ve been amazed by his commitment even before this match was announced.

He’s been travelling everywhere by Trick Williams’ side, making every SmackDown and PLE, and emerging as a genuinely great modern-day wrestling manager.

Yachty has been putting in the work in the Performance Center in the build-up to this match too.

Weeks before it was announced, I spoke to Trick for Metro, and he told me: ‘He’s been working hard. I’m excited to see when and what he does with his opportunity.’

He hailed the rapper as a ‘natural performer’ in their sessions, adding: ‘Yachty’s special, man. He loves the business. He’s a smart guy. He’s a talented guy.’

Since then, I’ve had high hopes, and I’m sure he’ll make his five minutes incredibly entertaining.
