Selections based on a soft track
Race 1
13. Savage Sequel is a gelding making his debut on the back of a Gold Coast barrier trial which he won back in March. He’s drawn ideally in gate two for this and has the services of gun apprentice Archie McColm. 4. Fratianno has been placed in each of his three starts since resuming from a spell and should be in the thick of things again. 7. Bundoran has been placed in six of 11 starts and resumes here. Another placing is on the cards. 8. Crime Of Passion is a former Victorian with four placings from six starts and she bears close watching fresh.
How to play it: Savage Sequel WIN.

10. Tralee was placed in her first two runs back from a spell at Tamworth and Muswellbrook before a last start ninth at Tamworth when beaten just under five lengths. She can bounce back to form here. 9. Rufus Atticus has been unplaced in four starts since resuming but is capable at best and shouldn’t be taken lightly. 6. Moon Treaty is a last start Gunnedah placegetter that can show up again with a repeat, while 7. Nortoko was midfield at Bathurst when last produced and is not the worst here.
How to play it: Tralee WIN.
Race 3
2. Fabs Cuz was a winner at Toowoomba back in March and was then spelled after a seventh at Toowoomba. He resumed from a spell for a new stable with a midfield fifth at Tamworth and should be better for that performance. 3. Nielsen Park had been racing well with placings at Muswellbrook and Forbes either side of a Gunnedah win and then ran eighth at Gunnedah last time out when not beaten too far. He can bounce back. 4. Puissance Power is a last start Tamworth winner that can go on with the job here with a repeat of that effort, while 8. Broadcast Boogie has a poor winning record but can get into the placings.
How to play it: Fabs Cuz WIN.
Race 4
1. Referees is lightly raced but has a good record with a win and three placings from six starts. He ran second behind Xtreme at Grafton before being spelled and resumed with a fourth at Murwillumbah when running home well to be beaten less than two lengths. He has drawn wide here but can overcome that. 4. Street Skater was a Narromine winner two starts ago and then finished seventh at Orange when not beaten far. This looks within reach. 5. Marinera finished second at Mudgee and Dubbo before breaking through with a victory at Warren and stepped straight up to Class 3 company when a last start sixth at Tamworth. 10. Midnight In Minori is a last start Dubbo winner that has bright claims with a repeat of that effort.
How to play it: Referees WIN.

Race 5
7. Sort Cha Mess has a win and four placings from five starts. He’s finished third at the Sunshine Coast and second at Ipswich at his last two starts and that form looks good for a race like this. 1. A staple is a handy performer that ran last at Eagle Farm before being spelled and resumed with a third at Emerald. He looks suited here. 2. Zampano hasn’t been beaten far in two starts since tailing the field home in a Randwick Highway and this looks within reach. 3. Zumba Storm won at Dubbo and Gunnedah before following a third at Gosford with a down the track effort in a Randwick Highway.
How to play it: Sort Cha Mess WIN.
Race 6
8. Moon Zone was in form winning two in a row at Cowra and Dubbo back in July. She followed that up with a second at this track before a last start third at Narromine. She’s drawn well here and looks hard to hold out. 7. Winged has finished midfield at Tamworth at his latest two starts and wasn’t beaten too far when last produced. 9. The Confidante won narrowly at Forbes before being close up at Narromine at his latest start. He can be thereabouts again. 5. Tyson’s Dream is first-up after two trials and could sprint well fresh.
How to play it: Moon Zone WIN.

10. Awaygoesthebunny charged to the line at Casino two starts ago to get into third when coming from well back. He followed that up with a fifth in the Murwillumbah Cup and this looks well within reach on the strength of that form. 8. Shadow Dane was placed in the Cup Prelude at Dubbo before doing the job well to score in the Narromine Cup last time out. He should take beating on current form. 6. Hibiki Harmony ran well when a last start second at Tuncurry and can run a prominent race again. 1. Voracious was a winner of the Forbes Cup two runs back and comes into this after a last start fifth at Canterbury. A bold showing is expected.
How to play it: Awaygoesthebunny EACH WAY.
Race 8
4. Dis Is Heaven hasn’t raced since May when scoring a good win at Inverell. He ran sixth at Eagle Farm before that behind Esjay and has finished second in a Tuncurry trial leading into this. He’s been placed in three of five first-up. 1. Inazuma Boy is resuming and strung together three wins on end last campaign. He’s a talented performer that looks set to sprint well fresh. 2. Castlebar Road has won two in a row at Gilgandra and Dubbo and should take plenty of running down. 11. Grey Effects won at Newcastle before a last start Tuncurry placing and warrants consideration.
