THEY have all the makings of a reality TV power couple but Dan Edgar has made the decision to keep his relationship with Chloe Lewis private – a strange move considering he’s one of the longest-serving stars of The Only Way is Essex.
Since he joined the show in 2015, he’s had high-profile romances with Kate Ferdinand, Amber Turner and Ella Rae Wise and his dramatic love life has kept him firmly at the centre of the series.

But Dan, 36, has made it clear that he has no intention of letting things with Chloe, 35, play out on the show.
And The Sun understands that by closing off arguably the most interesting thing about his life – he runs the risk of essentially writing himself out of Towie.
A well-placed insider said: “It’s a bold move for a reality star. Every show is under pressure to deliver right now and the Towie gang have been made aware they need to step it up when it comes to on-screen drama.
“For Dan to dismiss the idea of putting his relationship in front of the cameras could mean he’ll eventually be forced to choose between Towie and Chloe.

“He’s a big character but Dan doesn’t really have much else to offer apart from the ups and downs in his love life.”
When asked recently whether or not Chloe – who starred on Towie between 2015 and 2019 – will make a return, Dan made his feelings clear.
He told Closer: “I’m happy with how it is at the moment and it being separate.
“I’m in a good place with it all. Things are going well at the moment.”

Chloe – who quit Towie in 2019 – has also insisted she has no desire to make a comeback, saying previously: “I’m always grateful for the platform it gave me. But I don’t miss it at all. It was stressful.”
We understand that show bosses are being lenient towards Dan for now given his popularity among viewers and his long history as a cast member, but they can’t give people airtime without a reason.
Our insider said: “Everyone has become used to Dan being one of the main Towie stars, if there’s a hierarchy he’s certainly at the top.
“For now he can get by on supporting pal Diags and all the drama that comes with his relationship with Jodie Wells but that will only get him so far.
“If he really wants to keep his love life private this time around then he’s going to have to come up with something pretty special to fill its place on the show – and fast.”
The Sun has reached out to Towie representatives for comment.
