Woman charged with murder after man’s body found in Teven near Ballina

A woman has been charged with murder after the body of a man was found in a creek on a property on the NSW north coast.
Police were called just after midday yesterday to a house on Teven Road, Teven, west of Ballina, after reports of a concern for welfare.
Officers found the body of an 81-year-old man in a creek on the property.
A crime scene was established, and an on-site investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death is underway.
NSW Police alleged the man and woman were known to one another.
A 51-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to the Lismore Police station.
She was later taken to Lismore Base Hospital for assessment and then released into police custody this morning, where she was returned to the station and charged with murder.
The woman was refused bail to appear before bail division court tomorrow
