A SAUDI national has been stabbed in an attempted robbery in one of London’s most affluent areas.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was attacked in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, at around 9.38pm last night.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital.
Cops said the man’s injuries are non-life threatening and he currently remains in hospital.
The force has confirmed a 58-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery.
He was also taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.

Berkeley Square is one of Mayfair’s most famous locations and is surrounded by Georgian townhouses.
It is also home to the exclusive private members’ club Annabel’s.
The Saudi Embassy in the UK confirmed one of its nationals had been stabbed in Mayfair.
It said it was working closely with the British authorities and monitoring the victim’s condition.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Berkeley Square, Mayfair at 21:38hrs on Thursday, 3 September.
“Officers attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service and located a man, in his 40s, with stab injuries.
“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries have been deemed non-life threatening.
“A man, aged 58, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted robbery. He was taken to hospital, where he remains, to be treated for minor injuries.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 7446/03SEP.
“We recognise that this will cause concern among the community. Tackling knife crime and serious violence remains a priority for the Metropolitan Police.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is currently nothing to suggest an ongoing risk to the wider public. Officers will continue to monitor the situation and keep the need for any additional policing activity under review.”
A spokesman for the Saudi Embassy UK said on X: “The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United Kingdom is closely following the condition of the Saudi citizen who was subjected to a stabbing incident in the Mayfair area, and is coordinating with the relevant British authorities, while also ensuring the provision of necessary care and support to him, and monitoring his health status until his safe discharge from the hospital, God willing.
“The Embassy affirms that it is following up on the circumstances of the incident with the relevant security authorities, and emphasizes the importance of expediting the completion of the investigations, uncovering all details of the incident, and holding the perpetrator accountable in accordance with the law.
