SOUTHEND manager Kieron Dyer has shockingly slipped six Michael Jackson songs into a bizarre press conference.
The former Premier League and England star somehow managed to evade suspicion as he continued to list Jackson‘s biggest hits.
Dyer, 47, kept his composure with a reference to the 1982 hit Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ after a bet from his players.
But his song titles quickly became more obvious with references to Thriller, Man in the Mirror, Black or White, and Bad.
The 33-cap England international then thought he had been rumbled as he continued to rattle off Jackson’s biggest hits.
Dyer said: “We have targets in mind. We’ve got targets. Can’t name names, but it could be a random Joe Bloggs, or a Billie Jean.”

Somehow, Dyer’s musical inserts went under the radar from the journalists attending the press conference.
Dyer added: “I can’t believe you didn’t clock that. I got challenged, and hopefully raised some money for charity.
“The money will get donated to charity, but I got quite a few in.”
Footage from the press conference has quickly gone viral with more than 216,000 views after being shared by the Shrimpers on X.

Several fans have expressed their shock at how Dyer was able to avoid suspicion throughout the press conference.

A third fan commented: “Very good, made me giggle. The man in the mirror quote actually made me think of Michael Jackson but I didn’t click on the theme.”
Ex-Newcastle United midfielder Dyer was appointed as Southend’s boss for his first managerial role ahead of the 2026-27 National League season.
He was signed on a two-year deal, with an option for a third, after the Shrimpers finished sixth in the league last season.
Dyer has already led Southend to three wins and one draw in the opening five matches of their 2026-27 National League campaign.
The Shrimpers will next host Yeovil Town at Roots Hall on Saturday, September 5.
