Residents in a Clare town have been asked to give “a little extra attention” to their homes and keep their area tidy ahead of this year’s Irish Open.
The 2026 Amgen Irish Open will be held at Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Ireland in Doonbeg, County Clare.
As the major golf tournament kicks off next week, people living in Kilrush near Doonbeg have been asked to help keep the area tidy around the town.
As the town anticipates a large influx of visitors, Kilrush Tidy Towns has asked residents and businesses to help “make it shine”.
Kilrush Tidy Towns have asked residents to pick up any litter, tidy entrances and clean shopfronts and windows as well as freshen plants and flowers.
They said: “From September 10 to 13, 2026, Kilrush will be a gateway to the Irish Open, with visitors passing through or staying in our town and using the shuttle bus service to Doonbeg.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to show Kilrush at its very best and give everyone travelling through a great first impression of our town.
“We’re asking residents and businesses to give a little extra attention to the area around their homes and premises. Sweep outside, pick up any litter, tidy entrances, clean windows and shopfronts, freshen up planters and flowers, and keep bins and other items neatly stored.
“Every small effort adds up. If we all look after our own little patch, together we can have Kilrush looking its very best and ready to welcome visitors from near and far.
“Let’s make Kilrush shine!”
