THIS is the disturbing moment an alleged serial killer briefly showed his face to the CCTV inside a lift before assassinating a famous musician, his wife and their toddler.

Footage shows the suspect – hiding his identity behind a baseball cap and sunglasses – turning to the camera for a split second while on his way to the luxury penthouse where his unsuspecting victims awaited.

The bloodshed happened in an upscale neighbourhood near Mexico City, where Jonathan Meléndez, the keyboardist of the well-known indie rock band Camilo Séptimo, lived with his family.

As soon as the killer entered their home, he shot dead their nanny in the back.

Police believe he ordered Jonathan’s pregnant wife, Ana Paula Barragan, to muzzle the family dog so its barking did not alert the neighbours.

Ana and the couple’s youngest child Sofi, aged three, were then tied up and shot in the head using a gun with a silencer.

When the musician returned home, he witnessed the bloodied bodies of his wife and daughter, and fought the assassin – until he was overpowered and also gunned down.

Only the couple’s six-year-old boy survived the massacre, which happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Petrified but unharmed, the child was found hidden under a bed.

Two men have since been arrested in connection with the brutal killings.

DEATH PROBE

Man, 38, killed after being hit by 3 cars while walking on motorway is pictured

One of them, identified as Diego Sebastián “N,” is accused of being the probable perpetrator, the prosecutor’s office said.

He is believed to be an associate of the musician and the pair apparently rowed over money.

Another man identified as Gerardo “N” is also under investigation for his alleged involvement.

Both allegedly took advantage of one of their “relationships of trust with the victims” to gain access to the gated residence.

Confirming the arrests and naming the suspects only partially, State of Mexico prosecutors said in a statement: “The two alleged perpetrators of the murders of four people and the killing of a dog in Atizapan de Zaragoza have been arrested.

“On Wednesday morning Diego Sebastian ’N’, identified as J.S.M.O.’s partner, and the probable perpetrator of the multiple homicide was arrested.

“Previously Gerardo ’N’ was arrested, also under investigation for his probable involvement in the same events.”

Jonathan’s group, referencing him by his nickname of Jonas, paid tribute to him and his loved ones after learning of their deaths.

“We will always remember Jonas with immense love and gratitude,” they said.

“Today we honour and celebrate his life, his music, his light, and all that we shared with those of us who were fortunate enough to know him and walk alongside him.

“We extend all our love to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of immense sadness. We also extend our condolences to the family of Aleyda Romero, who worked with them.”
