The two-car collision occured in Co Leitrim and an elderly woman (80s) was also injured.
An elderly man aged in his 80s has died following a two-car crash in Co Leitrim that also left a female pensioner injured.
Gardaí have been appealing for information following the serious collision that occurred the R280 Kinlough to Manorhamilton road at Glenade in the townland of Gubinea two-and-a-half weeks ago.
The crash is said to have taken place at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, August 18.
The man, a passenger in one of the cars, was rushed to Sligo University Hospital and he has now passed away.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, has been treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries have been reported as gardaí appeal for any witnesses to come forward with crucial information.
A Garda spokesperson added: “Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling on the R280 Kinlough to Manorhamilton road at Glenade in the townland of Gubinea on Tuesday 18th August 2026 between 2:15pm and 3:00pm are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
