Student bursaries
Student Bursary applications with New Ross Credit Union are open. If you’ve finished your exams, received your results and secured your college place, you could be eligible for a New Ross Credit Union Student Bursary.
There are nine €1,000 awards for third-level education, and two €500 awards for PLC courses.
If you’ve completed your exams, received your results, been accepted onto a college course and are ready to complete your bursary application, now is the time to apply. Visit nrcu.ie/student-bursary/ to find out more and apply.

Vintage Run
Tullogher/Rosbercon Vintage Club will a vintage tractor and car road run on Sunday, September 6.

Local Link
882 New Ross to Kilkenny: The TFI Local Link Route 882 has been enhanced to operate four daily return services, Monday to Sunday.
The route will operate a new Sunday service and will provide connections to regional bus and rail services.
New Ross Men’s Shed
The shed is located at the back of the old Convent, up beside the New Ross Allotments, in the Irishtown. If you are someone that is finding it hard to sometimes get out of the house, or not finding something to do at home in the mornings, we here at the shed provide a place to sit down, have a mug of tea or coffee and a biscuit or two, along with meeting new people and socialising with other adults.
We also have a sports room with full-sized heated snooker table with lights, we have a couple of dart boards, and a pool table. We have a television for all your Tv watching and a computer with internet and all aspects of social media and printing available for use for the members of the shed.
We also have workshop for anyone that wants to use it in what way they want to use it can do as a member of the shed (we don’t supply materials for those jobs).
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm. Please call up, have a look around, and see if it’s some place for you to get involved or become a member.
Heritage Week
Thank you to everyone who helped make Heritage Week 2026 a great success across New Ross Municipal District.
From heritage walks and historical tours to traditional crafts and nature activities, it was a fantastic celebration of our local heritage. Thank you to all organisers, volunteers, participants, and partners, and to Wexford County Council’s Heritage and Biodiversity Offices for their valued support.
We at Wexford County Council look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.
Bridge
The new season of New Ross Bridge Club resumes on Monday, September 7 at 7pm.
The Brandon Bridge Club resumes on September 2 at 7pm. All new members welcome.
The new Viking Beginners’ Bridge Club begins on Tuesday, September 15 at 7.30pm in the Brandon House Hotel. Contact 086 2669836. All are welcome.
Learn to play Bridge as lessons will take place in the Ross Inn, Neville St, New Ross at 7.30pm. Contact Martin 0862669836. €50 x 10 lessons.
Volunteers needed
Bethany Bereavement Support, New Ross is looking for volunteers. Would you be interested in joining us? We are a voluntary community and Parish based listening service, which aims to support bereaved adults through the grieving process. Ladies Fashion Lunch
Tickets for the popular Ladies Fashion Lunch in aid of St Louis Day Care Centre are now on sale and are in high demand. The event will take place in the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola, October 4 from 12.30pm with a prosecco reception. Motorcycle Show
Calling all bikers, classic bike lovers & bargain hunters! Get ready for the Clonroche Motorcycle Show & Autojumble, a fantastic day out for all the family while supporting two great causes, on Saturday, September 12 at Clonroche Community Centre (Y21 W7W7).
Admission €5. On the day there will be a Motorcycle Show; Autojumble – Buy, Sell, Trade; Live Bands, Camping Available, Vintage & Classic Bikes on Display
Bike owners: Show bikes must be entered by 1pm, Judging & display from 2pm-6pm. Have a motorcycle, parts, riding gear or memorabilia to sell? Bring it along and be part of the Autojumble! (Stalls by appointment only.) All proceeds go to the Irish Heart Foundation & Clonroche Development.

Rory’s Stories: The Good Ol’ Days
Rory is back in St Michael’s Theatre, New Ross on Saturday, September 19 at 7.30pm, with his brand-new comedy show The Good Ol’ Days, where he hitches a lift back to simpler times.
Before social media, the only thing you needed to worry about was getting the torch shined on you at the teenage disco, village characters, knick-knacks and cheering on Jackie’s Army.
He will look at how life has changed and the new social norms; from shaving your nose hairs, being a coffee guru, enjoying nature walks and unfortunately having lots of responsibilities!
