And the former Swansea City youngster, 37, was rushed to hospital to undergo checks.

National League North side Darlington have now released an update on Barrow’s health after fans pleaded for positive news.

The Quakers have revealed the left-back’s condition is set to be reviewed by a cardiologist.

A club statement read: “The club realises that there has been some concern about the condition of defender Scott Barrow, who left the field near the end of the away game at Harborough on August 22.

“We can inform everybody, with Scott’s permission, that he is suffering from a heart condition which needs further analysis from a cardiologist in the coming weeks.

“He spent several days in hospital following an ECG after the Harborough away game, and is now resting at home.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish Scott a speedy recovery and that he is in our thoughts.”

Barrow came through the ranks at boyhood club Swansea before being released without making a first-team appearance.

The Welshman has gone on to feature for the likes of Tamworth, Macclesfield, Newport County, Gateshead and York City.

Barrow then played a key role in Darlington staving off relegation from the National League North when he joined on loan in 2024.

And the move became permanent after his contract with York expired at the end of the season.

But, in a huge blow for Darlington, Barrow is set for a spell out of action as he continues his recovery.

The Quakers are preparing to face King’s Lynn Town in a National League North clash on Saturday.

Darlington are only one point clear of the drop zone after winning two of their six clashes so far this term.
