A FORMER Marks & Spencer flagship store is set to be transformed into a major entertainment venue – and it even features a bowling alley.
The building has not had a long-term tenant since the retailer’s closure more than four years ago.
The site of a former historic M&S in Llandudno, North Wales, may soon become a £3million multi-level entertainment and leisure venue.
The four-floor, 19,944 sq ft property, located on Mostyn Street, was vacated by the supermarket giant in 2022 after more than 80 years.
Now, steps have been taken to turn the building into a family entertainment hub, set to offer guests a themed bar, six bowling lanes, intelligent darts, and pool tables.
Visitors will also be able to play games on the first-floor arcade area, including shuffleboard and an indoor 11-hole crazy golf.

The property was bought by Llandudno landowner, Mostyn Estates, shortly after M&S relocated its main store to Parc Llandudno in March 2022.
The firm will now work with a leisure operator who will oversee the management of the venue.
At the time the proposal was announced last year, Mostyn Estates said: “We are delighted to be delivering this exciting development and repurposing a beloved building in a central location of Mostyn Street.
“We feel this project will support the high street in attracting footfall and spend across both the day and evening bringing a vibrancy to the high street and town, which all businesses can benefit from.”

Conwy County Council’s minister for a sustainable economy, Nigel Smith, added that the former M&S was a “key premises” in the town and plans to develop the site was “an exciting opportunity”.
M&S’s former flagship store opened in 1936 and expanded in the early 70s to add a second floor and Llandudno’s first-ever escalator.
The building has sat empty for the past four years, only being briefly occupied by UK Leisure Living and the Calendar Club as short-term leases.
