TULLOGHER-ROSBERCON

St Moling Patron

The annual Patron of St Moling tool place in Mullinakill on Sunday the 23rd of August. Mass was celebrated at the shrine by Fr Liam Barron retired Parish Priest of Mullinavat assisted by Fr Liam Taylor the new P.P of Rosbercon/Glenmore.

There was a big attendance all of whom enjoyed the fine weather for the age-old tradition of Mass on the first Sunday following the 20th of August, the feast day of St Dominic. In years gone by the Patron attracted huge gatherings, hawkers selling all kinds of ware, religious and non-religious, a football match after the Patron and a platform dance in the evening at the crossroads.

Time moves on but the Brosna native of Co Kerry, St Moling, has left us a great tradition in honoring his name each August by the celebration of Mass in Mullinakill. Great credit is due to the hard-working Committee who keep the shrine and the grounds in pristine condition throughout the year.

A Good Win

The Tullogher/Rosbercon Intermediate hurlers carved out a hard-fought win over Barrow Rangers in the Kilkenny League. A five-star display by big Walter Walsh who hit 1-5 from play was instrumental in securing a 2-21 to 3-14 victory and therefore gaining valuable League points. Tullogher now play Black & Whites this weekend in final round, a game they are expected to win.

All anniversaries, baptism queries, parish queries should be made to [email protected] and no other email address (Anniversaries can also be booked over the phone). Fr. Liam can be contacted on this email.
