Late Stasia Wallace

The death occurred last Wednesday of Stasia Wallace (née Roche) Templetown, Fethard-on-Sea. Predeceased by her husband Kevin, son Bernard, parents Katie and Paddy, brothers Pat and James, sister Peggy and grand-daughter Michelle.

Stasia will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, her daughter Mary, sons Willie and Pat, grandchildren Mandy, Jason, Claire, Katie, Padráig, Áine, Rose and Kevin. Son in law Liam, daughters in law Eileen and Patricia, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended.

Funeral Mass took place last Saturday in All Saints Church Templetown with burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery Templetown. May She Rest in Peace.

Late Stephen Dwyer

The death occurred last Friday of Stephen Dwyer, Churchtown, Fethard-on-Sea. Beloved husband of Catherine and father to Emma and Adam. Predeceased by his parents Dick and Bridie, brothers Richie and Mickey and sister Rose. Sadly missed by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends to whom sympathy is extended.

Funeral Mass took place last Monday in All Saints Church Templetown, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May He Rest in Peace

A Word of Thanks

A Word of Thanks from Fr. Tom Orr: “On this my last weekend with you, I wish to thank you for all the wonderful support you have given me since I came to minister among you. It has been a privilege to journey with you all in the times of joy and the times of sadness that life brings. To all who have worked tirelessly on various committees in the parish and those who volunteer and work behind the scenes, a sincere and heartfelt thank you. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

“As I move on to Rathnure and the wider Pastoral area there, please be assured of my prayers and keep me in your prayers too. I wish Fr. Jim Doyle every blessing as he begins to minister here. I know you will make Fr. Jim feel welcome and support him as he begins to get to know you. I have told Fr. Jim that he is coming to a beautiful parish where he will meet wonderful people. Thank you so much for your kindness and your generosity to me, Fr. Tom.”

Templetown Pastoral Committee

As we say good bye to Fr. Tom Orr and thank him for the wonderful work he has done during his time in the parish we wish him all the best in his new appointment in Rathnure. We welcome Fr. Fethard/St Mogues GAA

Fethard played Horeswood yesterday evening in the New Ross District Junior B Football semi-final, if successful the Final will be next Friday evening.

The Junior B Hurlers will play Clongeen in the New Ross District Junior B Hurling Final next Monday September 7th in Gusserane at 7.30.

The Senior Footballers play St. James in their final group game in New Ross on Sunday 6th September at 3.15pm. The Senior Hurlers play Rapparees in Wexford Park on Friday 11th September at 7.30 in the relegation final.

Tintern Trails AGM

The Tintern Trails Development Committee invite you to attend their upcoming AGM which will take place on Monday 7th September at 7.30pm in Colclough Memorial Hall, Saltmills. The meeting will be an opportunity for the committee to report on developments of the walking trails to date and outline plans for future development. Green Road Gardens

Green Road Gardens Open Garden & Art Exhibition will take place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September from 10am to 5pm. Lotto Draw

The numbers drawn in the Graig GAA and Highview Athletic lotto draw on August 24 were 14, 22, 30, 31. There was no jackpot winner. The following received €30 each: Liam Doyle; Anne Marie Byrne; Barbara Earl; Tom Foley. Jackpot stands at €8,600. Tickets are available from any club member.

Graig Tidy Towns draw

Winners on August 27 were: 1st Prize – Alec & Brody, €415; 2nd Prize – Mary Quinn, €50; 3rd Prize – Jack Ryan, €25. Money raised through Tidy Towns jackpot will be used to keep the town looking well all year round. Draw takes place in the Abbey Centre at 4pm on Thursdays.

Lotto

There was no jackpot winner of the Tintern Lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 3, 8, 10 and 13. The match three winners were Darren Nolan of Campile, Eoin Conway of Coolroe, James O’Brien of Somers Way, Mary Cullen of Garrycullen, Martina Colfer of Forest View, Joy Whelan of PO, Naomi Quinn and Catherine Cahill of Boley. The jackpot remains at €20,000 and the reserve jackpot rises to €2,750.

Winner of the recent St Leonards soccer club’s Split the Pot draw was Michael Bernie who collects €450.

Rounders

Best wishes to the Gusserane Men’s Rounders team who will play their All Ireland junior final in the GAA Centre of Excellence in Offaly on Sunday 6th September from 11am. Myshall from Carlow will provide the opposition. The club were delighted with the response to their Breakfast Morning last Sunday and would like to thank all those who supported the fundraiser.

Chair Exercise
