Indoor GAA nursery – Craanford Monaseed Indoor GAA Nursery takes place every Saturday morning from 9.30am to 10.30am at the Craanford Indoor Sports Complex (Y25 H2W0).
The nursery introduces children aged 3–6 years to Gaelic games in a fun, relaxed and inclusive environment, while developing the ABCs of sport — Agility, Balance and Coordination.
New members are very welcome, particularly families new to the area and children attending schools in Gorey or living in the wider Craanford parish. All equipment is provided — just bring a bottle of water and plenty of energy. For further information, contact Mick Shortall on 087 9916764.
First Responders seek new volunteers
The Craanford Monaseed First Responders are celebrating 10 years, responding to cardiac/ medical emergencies in our community. Thanks to all volunteers past and present, many original members are still active in the group.
In September, we are looking for new volunteers, training will be provided. Expressions of interest please to current chair, Noeleen Kenny, 087 4104707, or current group co-coordinator, Suzanne paisley, 086 1777352. You must be over 18, and of reasonable health to apply.
Hollyfort Singing Circle
Hollyfort Singing Circle starts back at Hollyfort Old School (Y25 DK88) on Wednesday 2nd September at 7pm. €30 fee for year. All new members very welcome. Enquiries to Bernie Walsh on 086 3287317.
Askamore coffee day
The 10th anniversary coffee day in Askamore community centre, in memory of Mary Walsh, takes place on Sunday 13th September from 10am to 6pm. Proceeds in aid of The Irish Heart Foundation. Special guest on the day with his ice cream van is The Big Noisy 99. Support a great cause have a coffee chat and nice treats on the day.

Used stamps for The Missions – Again a big thank you to the people in Craanford and Monaseed for their ongoing support for the Missions by putting their stamps in the boxes in the porches in both churches. A reminder to take off the stamps, leaving around 1.5cms around the stamp please, from their envelopes and put them in the box in the church porch.

Garden Competition
Local gardeners have made the village look more beautiful than ever in this years annual tidy towns garden competition. The judges were highly impressed by the hard work and colourful displays created by our community members this year. The committee wishes to thank all those who took part this year.
After Looking at all the beautiful gardens the results as follows. Winner of best large garden: John Hammel (the village) and runner up–Deirdre Jones. Best small garden: Helen & Lorraine O’ Connor and runner up–Sinead O’Leary.
New volunteers are always welcome, the group meet every Sunday morning at 10am, all help gratefully received.
Lotto
The winning numbers in the parish lotto draw held on 24th August were 2,13,18 & 24. Match 3 winners: Brendan Morgan and Dermot & Elizabeth. Next draw was due to take place on 31st August at The Crosses, jackpot total of €14,550.
Bingo
The week’s charity Bingo on Thursday 3rd September at The Crosses is in aid of Buffers Alley Camogie – 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
