Eliminated Traitor Edelle and murdered Faithful Emma have said they are “raging” to be out of the RTÉ One show but are loving the way that butter-wouldn’t-melt Traitor Carla is playing the game, describing her as “TV gold”.
Monday’s second episode saw Dubliner Emma and Donegal woman Edelle leave Slane Castle, with Edelle choosing Emma for murder – only to depart herself in a brutal roundtable elimination at the end of the show.
“I think they chose me to throw me under the bus, obviously!” Edelle laughed when asked about fellow Traitors Carla, Fionula, and Páraic K. “I think I’m the only one that never got to meet any of their fellow Traitors!”
Edelle told RTÉ Entertainment that Carla has “played a blinder” and she would have loved to plot and scheme with her in the Turret in future episodes.
“I would’ve absolutely clicked with Carla,” she continued.
“I’d already spent a bit of time [with her], but when I thought about it in hindsight when I came out… Carla and I had spent a lot of time together in the mission the day before because we sacrificed ourselves first, obviously. I had been looking for Carla a lot on the day of the banishment, and I couldn’t quite find her in different rooms. In hindsight, she was avoiding me!”
“She was very clever, though, Carla,” said Emma.
“I noticed her the first day because I actually clocked Carla and said it to Laura. I feel like she became your [Edelle’s] baby sister very quickly – and two minutes later she was sitting beside someone else! And then she was sitting beside someone else! She’s playing it very well.”
When asked who they think could win, Emma replied: “I personally think Carla is, like, TV gold. I know she called me your one’s (Kayleigh) ma, but I think she is TV gold! She’s smashing it. All the little winks…”
“She threw me under the bus too!” Edelle repeated. “I still think that she’s played a blinder, but I am Team Kayleigh.”
Edelle concluded: “I really want to see Kayleigh do well. I think she’s going to call out some of these boys for some of this behaviour that needs to be called out – and I’m excited to see that! So, I really hope she stays in and does that.”
