Police investigating a double murder in Glasgow have said a man they would have sought to arrest is dead.
Paul Lafferty 50, and Gary Beaton, 54, were found with serious injuries at a property in Chancellor Street in the Partick area of the city on Sunday August 16.
They were pronounced dead at the scene and police launched a murder inquiry after post-mortem examinations were carried out.
On Monday August 17, a 38-year-old man was found seriously injured beneath George V Bridge in the city centre at about 1.40pm and was later pronounced dead by emergency services.
Police said that following “extensive inquiries” officers have established that if the 38-year-old man was alive today, they would have sought to arrest him in connection with the deaths of Mr Lafferty and Mr Beaton.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police said the investigation continues and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Officers previously said that Mr Beaton and Mr Lafferty were known to each other and were last seen on the morning of August 14.
Last week, police said they had seized more than 4,000 hours of CCTV footage and visited more than 170 properties as part of their investigation.
