If you’re eager to know what happens next in EastEnders – and let’s face it why wouldn’t you be after that cliffhanger! – then you’re in luck as we’ve got a little preview of what’s in store for Wednesday.

The latest visit to Walford saw Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) continue to struggle in the wake of her extended Hawkins clan making their mark on the Square.

Fearing that they’d be left with nowhere to go, Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) decided to take matters into her own hands, locking Nicola and mum Rose (Marian McLoughlin) in the back of a van to hash out their differences, to no avail.

And there was also that cliffhanger we mentioned as Priya Nandra-Hart’s (Sophie Khan Levy) affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood) is on the cusp of exposure after Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) witnessed an exchange between the two – and started to piece together the truth.

Ravi had told Priya earlier in the episode that he’d ‘kill’ the man she was seeing if it turned out to be someone he knew – will he follow through on such a statement?

If you’re keen for your next Walford fix then we have what you need, with a look ahead at what’s to come tomorrow.

What happens next in EastEnders? New spoilers for Wednesday, September 2

Armed with suspicion after what he saw, Ravi watches Max like a hawk, determined to find out if there is any truth to his theory about him being the man Priya was seeing – and he soon comes up with a way to confirm said suspicions.

Are Max’s days numbered?

Nicola, meanwhile, has a change of heart and allows the Hawkins to stay for a short while, much to Gemma and Ned’s (Jamie Bamber) delight. However, she soon finds out why they’ve come to Walford…

With a strong focus in the Square on Max’s stag, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) is disappointed for Howie (Delroy Atkinson) and encourages him to socialise more, tasking Denzel (Jaden Ladega) with planning his dad’s big night.

Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) agrees to Denzel’s suggestion to throw a joint stag celebration for Max and Howie – and he reveals his plot for Max.

But just what does Oscar have in store for his dad?

Over at the community centre, a power cut leaves Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) fearing their bingo night will be scuppered – that is, until Clive (Jason Durr) steps in and saves the day. Linda agrees to another date to her knight in shining armour.

Did we mention that this occurs on the very same day, Linda and Max share a moment?

Just what does this mean for Linda and Clive’s future? Do they have one? Or is it Max that she wants?

EastEnders airs these scenes Wednesday September 2 at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer
