A HUGE inferno has broken out on a busy industrial estate near homes, with plumes of black smoke seen for miles and explosions heard.
Nine fire crews and sixteen fire engines were scrambled to the scene in Brislington, Bristol, after the blaze ignited in a disused building earlier today.
Members of the public heard loud “explosions” at the industrial estate as the fire ripped through the building, Bristol Live reports.
Firefighters from nearby Hicks Gate, Temple, Kingswood, Avonmouth, Yate, Bath, Patchway, Bedminster and Nailsea are all currently at the scene of the huge inferno.
Avon Fire and Rescue have urged residents to avoid the area as crews attempt to bring the flames under control.
People have been told to keep their doors and windows closed as smoke pours from the fire and into the surrounding area.

Roads have been closed nearby with a police cordon in place around the site of the fire.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: “Fire crews were called at 2:27 pm, and firefighters from Hicks Gate, Temple, Kingswood, Avonmouth, Yate, Bath, Patchway, Bedminster and Nailsea are currently on the scene tackling the fire.
“We are asking residents and local businesses to keep their windows and doors closed and avoid the area where possible.”

Police have blocked off nearby roads with drivers urged to keep their distance amid rush hour.
People can be seen watching on in horror as the blaze tears through the abandoned building.
There have been no reported injuries.
