ARSENAL owners Kroenke Sports Entertainment have purchased Major League Baseball franchise the Los Angeles Angels.

The company, fronted by businessman Stan Kroenke, reportedly agreed a deal in the region of £3BILLION to purchase the Angels, who are currently struggling at the bottom of the American League West.

But Arsenal fans are fuming at the timing of the new announcement, which arrived on a quiet Premier League transfer deadline day for the Gunners.

Founder Kroenke and his son Josh have financed some big deals this summer, including the £75million addition of Bruno Guimaraes and the £55m arrival of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa.

But fans in North London are still unhappy with a perceived lack of action from their billionaire owners.

Kroenke, 79, has a hand in a number of sporting enterprises.

As well as Arsenal and the Angels, his company has stakes in the NFL‘s Los Angeles Rams, NHL outfit the Colorado Avalanche and MLS side Colorado Rapids.

But Arsenal fans were seemingly not delighted to see him add another organisation to his list of assets.

One fan responded to the news: “Kroenke buying a new team before an attacking signing.”

Another complained: “Is this what they are doing with all our transfer money?”

A third fan quipped: “Well they did something on transfer deadline day I guess.”

And a fourth added: “That’s what we did on deadline day folks.”

Fans at the Emirates had hoped to see Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez sign after a drawn out battle with Barcelona.

The Argentine star dreamed of a move to the Catalan side, but his team refused to sanction an agreement with their fierce rivals.

However Arsenal were not able to capitalise on the opportunity, and were left with Christos Tzolis as their only major attacking signing of the summer window.
