Katie Price has made a heartbreaking plea to her terminally ill mum Amy as her health battle continues.
The 48-year-old former glamour model begged her mother to ‘find the strength’ to remain with her, just days after revealing the 74-year-old was in hospital and ‘very poorly.’
Amy has battled idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a serious lung condition which causes scarring and makes breathing increasingly difficult, since being diagnosed in 2017.
Sharing an emotional message to her mum on Instagram, Katie wrote: ‘Mum, please don’t leave me; please find the strength to stay with me longer on this earth. You’re my EVERYTHING.
‘And you know I’ve turned everything around and you’re so proud of me.
‘You’re my eyes, my voice, my strength, my absolute Everything.’
The mum-of-five continued: ‘You’re a warrior and I’m your baby girl always and you love me through everything and held my hand.
‘I can’t lose you, not now not EVER.’
The devastating message comes after Katie revealed Amy had been admitted to hospital while speaking on The Katie Price Show, the podcast she hosts with her sister Sophie.
She told listeners their mum was ‘very poorly’, with Amy’s health having been a source of concern for the family for years.
Amy was initially given a life expectancy of between three and five years after her IPF diagnosis, but has repeatedly defied expectations.
In late 2022, she underwent a lung transplant after her condition deteriorated dramatically.
Katie has previously recalled just how close her mother came to dying before receiving the transplant, saying Amy had fallen into a coma and was believed to be just days from death.
Although the operation gave her more time with her family, Amy’s health struggles did not end there.
Last year, Katie spoke candidly about how difficult it had been watching her fiercely independent mum become increasingly reliant on other people.
‘Her brain is just so active and still switched on,’ she said on her podcast in March 2025.
‘She can’t do the things that she used to do, which is frustrating for her.’
What is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)?
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a rare condition where your lungs become scarred, making it harder to breathe. There’s currently no cure, but treatments are available to help manage the symptoms.
Symptoms of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
The symptoms of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) can include:
- shortness of breath
- a dry cough that does not go away
- feeling tired
- fingernails curving over rounded fingertips (clubbing)
The symptoms usually start slowly but continue to get worse over time.
IPF mainly affects people aged 70 or over, but can sometimes start at a younger age.
It’s not known what causes it, but in some cases it has been linked to things like long-term exposure to certain types of dust, such as metal, wood or asbestos.
You may also be more at risk if someone else in your close family has had it.
The severity of Amy’s condition also became apparent during the making of Katie’s recent autobiographical documentary.
Speaking in July, Katie revealed there had been several points during filming when the family feared Amy would not survive.
‘There were so many times we thought we were gonna lose mum through the filming,’ she admitted.
Sophie agreed, saying she had feared her mother ‘wasn’t going to make it’.
But Amy continued to confound their fears, even managing to attend the Baftas with her daughter in February.
Katie recalled: ‘She just keeps battling through and I never thought she’d make the BAFTAs, none of us did.’

Amy has remained an important presence throughout Katie’s turbulent life and career, with the pair frequently appearing together publicly over the years.
In 2018, Amy revealed during an appearance on Loose Women that Katie had offered to give her mum some of her lung to speed up the process of the transplant.
‘I can’t take one of her lungs, it’s ridiculous,’ she told the ITV panel. ‘I might not survive the operation, and it’s a waste of a lung!
‘She’s got her own family, and her own children. She’ll be the figurehead of the family when I go.’
The mum-of-three also revealed that Katie has ‘taken her illness the hardest.’
When asked if she was worried about Katie, she said: ‘Oh God yes, She’s quite soft, really. Out of all my children, I think she’s taken it the hardest.’
Katie’s latest message also appeared to reference changes she has made in her own life, telling her mum that she knows she has ‘turned everything around’ and that Amy is ‘so proud’ of her.
But with Amy now back in hospital, Katie’s focus was firmly on having more time with the woman she described as her ‘eyes’, ‘voice’ and ‘strength’.
Her message ended with the simplest plea of all: ‘I can’t lose you, not now not EVER.’
