The b**** is back, and this time it’s not Kim Tate (Claire King).
Emmerdale’s Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) trounced back into the village under the guise that she had returned to pay her respects to dear departed Jimmy (Nick Miles).
She wasted no time in dropping the bombshell that she and Jimmy had been in a relationship for three years, backing up what could have been an elaborate lie with solid evidence that even Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) couldn’t deny.
Actress Patsy has confirmed that Sadie has returned as a ‘desperate woman’, and we recently saw her card get declined during a purchase, so our bets are on that Sadie – who hasn’t shed a single tear for poor Jimmy – is after a big payday.
We also know that a ‘desperate’ Sadie is a dangerous one.
When Jimmy died, £5,000 was mysteriously found in his car. Sadie explained this by saying Jimmy had plans to buy her a £5,000 handbag, but it’s a bit of an oddly exact amount for an expensive accessory.
The other sign that she’s after cash is that she arranges for ex Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to break into Nicola’s and ransack the place in search of the money.
She befriends Nicola to get close, while seemingly planning to rip her life apart more than losing a husband of nearly two decades ever could.
With no joy at Nicola’s, Sadie must come up with plan B. She’s visibly shaken when she runs into ex Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who stole £2 million from her back in the day, and decides now is the time to demand it back.
But then she runs into Kim and that sickeningly wry smile is wiped off her face.
Their reunion immediately becomes hostile, sparking thoughts from Pollard (Chris Chittel) and Moira (Natalie J Robb) that she’s only here for bad reasons, and we’d say they’re not wrong.
Does Sadie now have eyes on shaking down Kim for cash too? She’s got another bombshell to drop, and something tells us it’s not going to make anyone any more pleased to see her.
