Beer is best enjoyed with a salty snack — so it makes sense merging two pints of lager into a packet of crisps would prove a hit.
Aldi’s limited edition German Pilsner-flavoured crisps went down a storm back in 2024, prompting a return by popular demand the following year.
Now, shoppers can get their hands on these ‘hoppy and savoury’ cult favourites once more, as they’re back on shelves for Oktoberfest 2026.
From September 10, the booze-inspired Specially Selected Crinkle Crisps will be available at the budget supermarket, priced at £1.15 for a 150g bag.
But as with all Aldi Specialbuys and theme week items, you’ll need to be quick; once they’re gone, they’re gone.
And if the reaction is anything like last time, it’s likely they’ll be snapped up by fans as quick as you can say ‘prost’.
On Reddit, crisp connoisseur @RepulsiveDiver7109 said they ‘loved them’,praising their ‘delicious’ ‘subtle beery flavour’.
Instagrammer @another_snack_reviewer described the ‘distinctive yeasty’ taste as ‘weirdly accurate’, while commenter @elliotbidgood4 added: ‘Magic — right down to a kind of beer-fizz tingle they manage to capture.’
‘Lovely crisps!,’ Keith Hall wrote on Facebook. ‘Actually taste like beer!’
The love extends to Metro too, with lifestyle editor Rachel Moss giving the product a 10 out of 10 and urging readers to ‘go and try them’.
‘My husband is always throwing weird and wonderful snacks into the trolley, so I rolled my eyes when he bought yet another novelty flavour home,’ she continued.
‘Little did I know I’d be heading back to Aldi myself for more bags while they were in stock. These really are so moreish; the perfect crunch with a subtle larger flavour that isn’t overpowering. I never thought I’d care so much about a crisp, but here we are.’
Don’t worry if the German Pilsner Beer variety isn’t quite up your straße though, as Currywurst Sausage crisps will also be returning to Aldi stores from Thursday (September 10),alongside a range of Bavarian-themed snacks including nutty Peanut Puffs and Paprika Potato Sticks.

Aldi isn’t the only manufacturer getting creative with their crisps right now either.
In August, Walkers launched two new takeaway-inspired flavours as part of its popular Do Us A Flavour campaign.
According to the brand, Salt & Pepper Chicken combines garlic, spring onion, black pepper, and aromatic Chinese-inspired spices, while Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam brings together the rich flavour of melted cheese, with a sweet and spicy chilli jam twist.
However, only one of these will be sticking around, with Wayne Newton, senior marketing director of Walkers Snacks at PepsiCo, commenting: ‘We can’t wait to see which flavour captures Britons’ hearts and earns its place as the next permanent addition to the Walkers family.’
