The love story between former EastEnders stars Shona McGarty and Tony Discipline continues after they hard-launched their relationship back in July.

Uploading a video featuring sweet snaps to Instagram, each picture showed the couple in a variety of loved-up poses, while the images were each emblazoned with a word, forming the sentence ‘it was always you’.

Shona captioned the clip: ‘It was always you…’, finishing the caption with an infinity symbol, with Tony commenting: ‘You and Me Baby’.

Their former co-star Cheryl Fergison left a lovely comment, saying: ‘Happy for you both take your hearts and run with it search your soul and be one’, to which Shona replied: ‘what a beautiful thing to say, thank you my friend xx’ and Tony responded with a love heart.

More former EastEnders stars flooded the comment section with cute comments, too, with John Partridge adding: ‘Honestly… I just can’t…’, followed by a slew of love hearts and Danny Hatchard posting: ‘Cutie patootie’s’.

It wasn’t just co-stars either; fans were lining up to shower the couple with kindness.

The couple made their relationship official via a TikTok, in which Shona and Tony undertaking an accent challenge yesterday, which saw them eventually collapse into fits of laughter as they progressed through various lilts.

She captioned the clip: ‘accent challenge with my Man…@tony (God it feels so good to say that)’, solidifying him as her boyfriend.

A day previously, Shona had uploaded a carousel of images to Instagram from a sun-drenched holiday they’d been on together, captioning the post: ‘The best trip away with Mi Amor @tonydiscipline’, to which Tony replied in the comment section with: ‘Te Amo’.

One of the pictures in the post showed the two in the process of getting matching tattoos, which appear to be of a popped toaster, next to a pineapple and palm tree.

Yeah, we didn’t really get that bit, either.

As long-time EastEnders fans will undoubtedly recall, their on-screen characters, Whitney Dean and Tyler Moon were in a tumultuous relationship that was filled with cheating, trauma and drama, and eventually lead to Tyler’s departure from the show in 2014.

Whitney stuck around for a further 10 years, becoming a Walford stalwart, before leaving Walford in 2024, with a one-off appearance coming in 2026, when she returned to help her ex, Zack (James Farrar).

Previously, Tony had been in a relationship with Jacqueline Jossa, who still plays Lauren Branning on the soap, while Shona had been in a relationship with Matt Lapinskas, who portrayed Tony’s on-screen brother, Anthony Moon.

A source had told The Sun: ‘They’ve been good friends for years. While there’s always been an attraction there, they were always in relationships.

‘But after they both found themselves single, things began to heat up. They are taking things slowly and really enjoying each other’s company.

‘Shona is very happy. He’s a lovely guy, and all their mutual friends think they are a fantastic match. He’s just her type.’
