Jennifer Lawrence is getting real about the plastic surgery she’s eyeing up but is too afraid to commit to.

The 36-year-old Hollywood star, who reached icon status after her run as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games trilogy and went on to land her first Oscar aged 22, is opening up about how she’s been dealing with ageing under the spotlight.

As an actress by trade, she’s all too aware that facial movement is a vital part of the job, so she can express the full range of human emotions, which does hinder her somewhat when it comes to what she can put into her face.

‘I can’t really get very much done. I need to have movement in my face – I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot,’ she explained. She added that she does facials to keep her skin as healthy as possible.

‘If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty,’ she reflected. In fact, she’s sceptical about the increasingly popular trend to remove fat, but ultimately backs those who want to go ahead with it.

‘Oh, I’m really nervous about these fat transfers. I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that,’ she reflected to Vogue.

There is one active surgery; however, she would want to invest in it if it weren’t so outwardly altering.

‘I would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that,’ she admitted.

According to a Harley Street clinic, this more invasive procedure ‘eliminates the excess fat found between the cheekbones and jawbones’.

There’s plenty of beauty treatments she’s not a fan of as well, as she listed to the publication.

‘I hate getting my hair coloured. I also hate going to the nail salon. I saw a tweet that was like: “It’s like going to the hand dentist.” It’s not relaxing. It’s not fun. It’s really, really boring. It takes so long,’ she said.

She’s not the only actress speaking about it. Anne Hathaway, 43, recently stirred up discourse after showing her ‘facelift’ hack online using two braids to pull the skin back) after persistent rumours she had had work done.

‘I’ll probably always wonder: “Should I have posted that or not? Should I have just kept going and done the thing that makes me happy and makes me feel more confident on the red carpet?” But I felt like the conversation was becoming distracting,’ she said about her decision to post the clip.

As Jennifer weighs up her cosmetic surgery options, she has plenty of acting projects to look forward to. Soon, she’ll be appearing in Martin Scorsese’s next movie, the psychological horror What Happens at Night, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, about an American couple who visit a snowy European town.

Meanwhile, flexing her comic skills, she’s also returning to the world of rom-coms after her turn in No Hard Feelings. This time round she’ll star in the Apple movie, One Month Mark.

So far, the plot simply reads: ‘She has never made it past a month in a relationship. He has never gone longer than a month without one.’

Plenty of excitement was also whipped up at the end of last year after reports that she and Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson would be reprising their roles in the dystopian franchise for the upcoming prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping.

Exactly what their cameo will entail on screen remains to be seen, however.
