One of the most hilarious parts of Coronation Street villain Jodie Ramsey’s (Olivia Frances-Brown) back story is she used to be a nanny.

For one, the fact that she assaulted Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) would likely raise some eyebrows during any DBS check, even though she managed to avoid prison and get community service instead.

Then of course there’s the whole matter of hiding a gun in the same house as her teenage niece Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft Gardner)

Seriously, who would let this woman around children?

Shona (Julia Goulding) and David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) for one, but only because they’ve got no choice. Countless weeks worrying about their premature Baby Harper has left them emotionally drained, meaning that Shona’s only too happy to let Jodie play the doting aunt, despite her secret desire for revenge against her half-sister for abandoning her when they were kids.

Basically, Jodie is a one woman spite machine who shoots first and generally doesn’t bother with questions. She doesn’t let anybody or anything get in her way – and that extends to children.

We’ve already seen her steal an iPad from a kid by pretending to be a police officer just to re-gift it to Lily. She was also less-than-courteous toLucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin), after the traumatised teen had a fight with Lily after having recent lost her parents.

So it goes without saying, that the bunny-boiling baddie isn’t going to let some adorable children get in the way of what she wants. The question is, what does Jodie want this week?

That would be Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Fresh from being dumped from jail by Sarah Platt, he’s been stupid enough to let Jodie get his claws to him, despite the warnings of Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

It seems that Kit actually heeds those warnings in next week’s trip to the Cobbles, and obviously, Jodie’s not going to take rejection well… and she takes out on her frustrations on a child.

Over at the Platts’ Shona’s emotional as David returns home. Over lunch, he assures Shona she’s a brilliant mum and from now on they’ll share the strain.

Meanwhile, Jodie listens to a voice message from Kit explaining he doesn’t want to see her again. Masking her anger, Jodie heads out. This clearly isn’t going to end well,

Sure enough, Shona’s twisted sister lets herself into Sarah’s flat (also known as breaking and entering) for a good snoop around.

Suddenly, she’s interrupted by the arrival of Kit and Bethany, forcing her duck out of sight. That’s when she spots Harry Platt’s (Joshua Leavy) height chart on the wall.

Just in case Harry’s not been through enough recently with his mum being banged up for murder, Jodie spitefully decides to make him shorter by rubbing some centimetres off his height chart. Boo! Hiss!

If you thought that was all the mischief Jodie’s going to get up to this week, clearly you have not watched enough Coronation Street.

Because after she’s done messing with Harry’s height, she hears a snippet of conversation between Kit and Bethany that leaves her absolutely floored…
