A grandmother who spent £14.99 on a pair of new dentures she saw on Facebook says they look just like Haribo sweets.
Karen Soper, 58, from Neath, Wales, lost her teeth around 20 years ago because of gum disease and said she couldn’t afford to get professional treatment for dentures.
When she saw an advertisement for ‘simple at-home moldable dentures’ and saw videos of other purported customers eating easily with them, she decided to order a pair for herself.
But when the dentures arrived, Karen said she found they were made of ‘solid, cheap plastic’ and fell out of her mouth immediately.
Karen said: ‘I’ve been wearing dentures, but they just keep falling out all the time. I’m really self-conscious of them and can’t afford to get them professionally done.

‘So when I saw this advert on Facebook, I thought they looked absolutely brilliant. The people wearing them were eating an apple and crunching on a corn on the cob, but the teeth that came looked nothing like them.’
The gran is now warning others in hopes that they can avoid being scammed like she was.
‘They look exactly like the teeth sweets you can buy; but the Haribo sweets teeth look nicer,’ she added.
‘Someone’s making an absolute fortune because these teeth look like they cost 20p. I’ve ordered stuff from Facebook before, and it’s been fine. I just want to tell people not to get stung as well.’
In 2024, another grandmother had all her teeth removed and replaced with £8,000 implants after losing more than half of them to gum disease.

Earlier this month, the grandmother-of-three hopped on a flight and in a four-and-a-half hour procedure, had all 13 of her remaining teeth removed.
Photos revealed gruesome bruising after her teeth were removed in the clinic, but the results have left Hayley unable to stop smiling.
