Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) returned to Emmerdale in incredibly dramatic fashion, stepping out of a helicopter to cause absolute mayhem as she made some shocking claims about ex husband Jimmy (Nick Miles).

The eponymous village has been in mourning following the deaths of Jimmy and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), who both perished in the wake of a devastating crash.

Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) held husband Jimmy’s hand as he slowly faded, imagining what life could have been like had they managed to renew their wedding vows.

In a bid to honour her other half, Nicola headed to the crash site with fellow villagers Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah).

Their moment of mourning, however, was interrupted by the overwhelming noise of helicopter propellors above.

The aircraft subsequently landed in the field, where a glamorous Sadie emerged, making her comeback to the village after 20 years.

Her return well and truly set the cat among the pigeons, with Sadie making some wild claims about Jimmy, much to the chagrin of Nicola, who was left utterly reeling.

Jimmy and Sadie King affair claims explained

When quizzed on her reasons for being in the village, Sadie claimed that she was there to pay her respects to ex husband Jimmy, stating that they’ve been seeing each other and living together for three years.

The claims left Nicola reeling as she assured everyone in The Woolpack – and Sadie – that she and Jimmy were happily married, reiterating that he would never cheat on her.

Sadie, however, attempted to refute such a thing, saying that Jimmy told her that they’d split years ago – and that he hadn’t mentioned Nicola since.

Devastated, Nicola returned home to Victoria Cottage but Sadie followed, hoping to continue on their conversation. Sadie claimed that Jimmy had lied to both of them.

Struggling to process everything, a heartbroken Nico kicked Sadie out and burst into tears.

With a penchant for scheming, meddling and gold-digging, the question is: can Sadie be trusted? Was Jimmy really seeing her behind Nicola’s back? Or has she simply made such a thing up to get her hands on the money Jimmy recently came into after selling the haulage firm?

That does seem like a possible explanation – but there is just one issue. Next week, Nicola decides to sell Jimmy’s shares in the haulage company only to discover that he has already sold it – and never told her. What’s more, the money he got from the sale is nowhere to found.

Amid her search for the cash, she makes discoveries that she would rather not have done so. ‘Once she starts discovering what’s been going on, the grieving process stops, and suddenly she’s thrown into doubting her husband,’ said actress Nicola Wheeler. ‘She doesn’t know who he is anymore.

‘Jimmy had a lot of secrets, and I think the audience are going to be mighty surprised at the life Jimmy was leading that nobody knew about,’ Nicola teased. ‘It’s exciting.’
