Concert crews working at an Ed Sheeran gig in Detroit’s Ford Field were hit by a piece of stage equipment.
The incident unfolded after the Shape of You singer’s Saturday concert had wrapped up when workers were taking down the stage.
Six people are said to have been hurt during the loud-out when equipment lost control near the vehicle tunnel, according to local outlet Click On Detroit.
At least one person is understood to have stayed in the hospital overnight. None of the workers’ injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
The emergency services were alerted to reports of a ‘forklift injury accident,’ 911 dispatch calls reveal.
Workers said they were about to take a break and were walking near the tunnel ramp when the equipment lost control, reportedly smashing into many of them.
Footage from inside the stadium appears to show a red forklift that has driven or hit the edge of the stage, however, it is unclear whether this vehicle was involved.
Ford Field stadium confirmed to the outlet that one of those injured was in their team.
It said: ‘Ford Field has begun a full review and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and with the event’s production partners.
‘Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause. We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.’

Sheeran attracted around 40,000 fans at the stadium on Saturday during his visit to the city as part of the Loop Tour.
The 35-year-old told the crowd during his third headline concert in Detroit: ‘I love this city, I love the state, I love the people here.’
The musician entertained the fans for 28 songs, running for two hours and 50 minutes.
His stage set-up included the main stage and a smaller B-stage connected with an extendable mechanical bridge, which the singer crossed back and forth during the show, The Detroit News reports.
The British hit maker has revealed he plans to take a break from touring after the US and Latin American stint to focus on spending time with his family and his two daughters he shares with his wife Cherry.
