Sir, – All the warnings I had heard about charging infrastructure in Ireland turned out to be true yesterday on a journey from Dalkey to Roundstone in my new EV. Two out-of-order fast chargers and a queue meant I arrived seven hours after setting off.

What an unfortunate joke the situation is. Governments past and present should hang their heads in shame. On the plus side I did meet some lovely people equally frustrated by the situation! – Yours, etc,
