Sir, – Micheál Martin recognises vapes as “the revenge of big tobacco” (“Martin raises prospect of a vapes ban”, News, September 9th). It is a shame he doesn’t recognise gas-powered data centres as the revenge of the fossil fuel industry.
If he did, then maybe the Government could come up with a more sensible and environmentally sound policy than offering these facilities discounted gas while those attempting to use sustainable public transport are punished with disappearing buses and a 15 per cent fare increase. – Yours, etc,
