Ryan Tubridy, Claire Byrne and Siobhán McSweeney are all set to join the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox Ireland, which will air on Wednesday, September 9th, at 9pm on Virgin Media.
Speaking on his podcast The Bookshelf, Ryan Tubridy said he is a fan of Gogglebox.
“They approached me recently and said, ‘What do you think?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, I would really love to do it,’ because I just love it so much.”
He also said he would be filming the show in his home and sharing the couch with Mark Wogan, the son of the late broadcaster Terry Wogan.
Fellow broadcaster Byrne, who will also be appearing on the 12th season of that show, said on Newstalk Breakfast on Wednesday morning, “I do not know what to expect.”
Byrne will be joined on the couch by Newstalk presenter Ciara Doherty.
“We’re together, sitting on the sofa,” she said. “Well, we will be. I don’t know how it all works.”
She said filming would not take place in her home.
Also taking part in the show is Derry Girls star and The Traitors Ireland presenter McSweeney and her friend Jess.

Another Derry Girls alumnus is joining rank in the form of Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, who will share a sofa with actor Ian O’Reilly.
Comedians are also taking part in this season’s line-up, including Kyla Cobbler, Mike Rice, Mario Rosenstock and Alison Spittle.
Sports stars Olympian Ciara Mageean and former Dublin GAA footballer Michael Darragh Macauley will also participate in the celebrity special.
Cork born podcast hosts PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey have also been announced. The I’m Grand Mam podcasters will be joined by residential property buyer’s agent Liz O’Kane. The trio have previously worked together on another Virgin Media show, Help me Buy a Home, which will return to the network on September 20th at 9pm.
