A man in his 30s has died and a woman in her 30s has been injured after a collision in Meath on Tuesday afternoon.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the two-vehicle crash on the M4 westbound at Junction 9 (Enfield) at approximately 2:30pm.
One of the drivers, the man in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has since been removed to the local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The woman in her 30s was conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The road is closed pending examination by forensics, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Any road users who were travelling on the M4 near Junction 9 (Enfield) between 2 pm and 3 pm today and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
