Oasis are set to return to Ireland and have announced that they will play Slane Castle in 2027.
Announced on the band’s social media at 4pm, it was confirmed they will perform at Slane Castle on September 4 and 5 next year.
The announcement comes after the band released a series of social media posts teasing the event and other tour venues across the world.
On Saturday afternoon, the band posted a video on Instagram which appeared to show lead singer Liam Gallagher standing on a stage overlooking an empty field, which resembled Slane Castle.
Recreating the iconic shot taken of the Oasis frontman as he looked out at the Slane crowd in 1995.
The teaser sparked widespread speculation amongst fans that the groups latest tour would be stopping at the historic Co Meath venue.
The brothers social media also hinted at possible shows in Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Boston, Rome and Knebworth in Hertfordshire, England.
On Thursday night, Oasis confirmed the date of an upcoming tour announcement during a drone light show in Manchester.
With the bands logo illuminating above Joie Stadium, home to the Manchester City Women before being replaced with the date 14/09/26 and the time 4pm BST.
The band has played at Slane Castle twice.
In July 1995, they were a support act for US alternative rockers REM.
The band returned to Slane Castle in June 2009 just months before their split, with support acts including The Prodigy and Kasabian.
Last year, Liam and Noel Gallagher returned to Ireland as part of their reunion tour.
Selling out Croke Park for two nights and drawing a crowd of more than 160,000 people.
Noel Gallagher has previously spoken about the influence the brothers Irish heritage has had on the band and their music.
“I guess the Irish influence is heavy in what I do and what we did as a band because we were all Irish descent.” he said.
“But I couldn’t pin it to one particular thing.
“Look there’s a rebellious nature to Definitely Maybe, and there’s a defiance to it, and there’s a defiance and a rebellious nature to the Irish.”
Slane Castle is now set to host four concerts in 2027, doubling the number of shows typically held at the venue.
With Dublin Band Fontaines DC announcing last month that they will play two nights at the venue next summer.
