The weather is set to be seasonably “changeable” over the coming days, with a mix of showers and drier spells expected heading into next week.
While today will be dry for the most part, there is going to be some rain in the early days of the coming week, and temperatures are set to drop slightly.
“The weather will remain changeable for the coming days, with further rain and showers at times, but that will also be mixed with some dry and bright spells,” meteorologist Linda Hughes said on Met Éireann’s Sunday morning forecast.
Any overnight mist and fog will clear up this morning to bring a dry but cloudy day with just isolated showers. Highest temperatures will be between 16 and 21C, warmest in the south and east of the country.
It will remain cloudy into tonight and more mist and fog will form, though most areas will stay dry. There will be the odd bit of drizzle, and showers will arrive towards Monday morning, with some turning heavy.
It will be a mild and humid night tonight, with temperatures only dropping to lows of 12 to 16C.
That rain will affect the south and west on Monday morning and will turn heavy at times, while conditions will remain dry in the north and east with some sunshine breaking through.
Rain will then spread across the country during the afternoon and evening with mist and fog forming again. It will be a “warm and humid” day, with highs of 17 to 23C.
From Tuesday on, temperatures are expected to be cooler and conditions will feel “fresher”. There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, with highest temperatures of 15 to 18C.
Met Éireann’s outlook for the remainder of next week shows conditions will stay much the same, with drier spells at times and showers also in the mix. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high teens.
