The late, great Dolly Parton is set to be remembered with a special charity event that will be held in Páidí Ó Sé’s pub on the night of Saturday, September 19.
Dolly, who passed away at the age of 80 on August 25 of this year, famously visited the West Kerry pub back in October of 1990 where she sang Coat of Many Colors and was accompanied by musicians Steve Cooney and Seamus Begley.
As a memento to mark her visit, the legendary Tennessee singer was presented with the jersey that Páidí Ó Sé himself wore in the 1985 All-Ireland final, a match in which he captained the Kingdom to victory.
The night on September 19 is being billed as a ‘Night for Dolly’ and it promises everything from big songs to big hair as it helps to raise vital funds for the Kerry Cancer Support Group.
Leading the night’s entertainment will be Claudia Buckley, alongside Dónal, Eoin and Melanie Murphy, all of whom are guaranteed to make it a lively night of music and celebration.
