Limerick’s arts scene is set for a major boost, with almost half a million euro being awarded to seven local organisations and artists for work planned across the city and county next year.
A total of €455,675 has been allocated to Limerick through the Arts Grant Funding scheme, supporting everything from visual art and theatre to dance, jazz and literature.
The largest award goes to Ormston House, which has been allocated €224,000 for its visual arts activities.
Askeaton Contemporary Arts CLG will receive €77,000. The Limerick Theatre and Performance Hub has been awarded €75,000 for participatory arts.
Light Moves Festival of Screendance will receive €30,000.
Limerick Jazz Society has been awarded €25,000, and Sans. Press will receive €20,000 for literature in the English language.
Limerick writer and poet D’or Seifer has also received €4,675.
The funding is part of a national package worth €17.2 million, supporting work for audiences and helping artists develop their careers.
