Gardaí in Wexford town have confirmed they seized an e-scooter after a 14-year-old rider failed to stop for Gardaí and was subsequently detected being driven in a dangerous manner.
Gardaí said the e-scooter is capable of speeds in excess of the 20kmh limit and was seized under Section 109A of the Road Traffic Act.
An Garda Síochána has “reminded parents and young people” of the risks associated with the use of e-scooters, particularly those capable of high speeds.
