The Chief Executive of Wexford County Chamber of Commerce has had what she described as a “constructive discussion” with Tánaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris and Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers.
The meeting was facilitated by Chambers Ireland with Budget 2027 just weeks away.
Ms Roche said a number of “key discussion points were covered which included, the cost of doing business, the national training fund, income tax, indigenous businesses and scaling and regional connectivity.
“Businesses are feeling the cumulative impact of wage, fuel, energy, insurance, regulatory and compliance costs,” she said.
“I again raised the importance of completing the M11 to Rosslare, progressing the N24 Limerick–Waterford corridor, and continued investment in Local Link services.
Ms Roche added that these discussions strongly align with what has been set out in the County Wexford Chamber Pre-Budget Submission 2027.
“For me, the overarching message is simple. We need to make it easier and more rewarding for businesses to invest, grow and create employment. If we are serious about balanced regional development, we need to give regional economies the infrastructure and connectivity they need to compete.”
