Several residents and businesses in Gorey, Co. Wexford are set to experience disruptions as a two-day planned outage this weekend has been announced by ESB Networks to facilitate necessary works.

The outages announced will take place on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13 to carry out upgrades to the electricity network, which include upgrades to the local 20kV network.

The outages will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. during both days.

“These outages are essential to provide a more resilient network for customers, ensure more protection and provide a better quality of service for customers,” a spokesperson from ESB Networks said.

Different areas will be affected during both days. Businesses and residential areas affected by the outages on Saturday include Aldi, Amber Springs Hotel, An Post, Courtown Road, Gorey Bridge Housing Scheme, IDA Gorey, Knockmullen, Meadowgate, Millands, Ramsbrooke, Tesco and The Paddocks.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, September 13, areas which will be affected include: Ballycale, Coolnaveagh, Gorey Business Park and Ramstown Business Park.

Following this, ESB Networks said all customers who will be impacted by the planned outages have been notified in advance.

ESB further acknowledged the inconvenience the interruptions may cause to residents and business owners and thanked customers and local communities for their patience and understanding while the essential upgrade works are being completed.
