Hopes are high a jobs boost could be on the way to Monaghan after a family-run joinery firm unveiled ambitious expansion plans.
Long-established Emyvale based firm Truwood Ltd, have tabled plans with local planners to bulldoze its existing assembly building by constructing a new two-storey office and ancillary building.
Monaghan County Council’s planning department have also been asked to rule on proposed alterations to an existing single-storey office building as well as the existing internal layout of Trumwood’s manufacturing facility.
“The proposal will improve the functionality and efficiency of the established premises through the reconfiguration of the office and production areas and provision of enhanced staff facilities, including a dedicated canteen, supporting the continued operation of the existing business at its established site,” a planning statement read.
The plans similarly provide for the introduction of additional car parking and a new wastewater treatment system.
A final decision on the plans is expected by the end of October.
