Batches of taco mayonnaise in Lidl and Supervalu have been recalled due to fermentation.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland asked retailers to remove the affected batches from sale in Lidl and Supervalu and to display recall notices at point-of-sale.

The affected batches of 425g bottles of Batt’s Taco Mayonnaise sold in Lidl have best-before dates as April 21, 2027, and April 22, 2027, and were produced in Ireland.

The watchdog said they have been recalled due to spoilage caused by fermentation.

It comes after, on Tuesday, a batch of Supervalu Taco Mayonnaise was recalled, also due to spoilage caused by fermentation.

The affected batch of 420g Supervalu Taco Mayonnaise has a best-before date of April 18, 2027.

The FSAI has advised the consumers not to eat the implicated batch.
