Well Done / Thank You
Well done and sincere thanks to everyone involved in the upkeep of Collon Graveyard and the installation of the new paths in preparation of the Blessings of the Graves. Your hard work helps keep this special place respectful, welcoming, and well cared for–a fitting tribute to the community members and loved ones who have gone before us. It is greatly appreciated by all who visit, remember and take comfort there.
Shabby Chic–Furniture Upcycling Classes

Health & Well Being Classes

Tae Kwon Do news
Tae Kwondo is kicking off again for children aged 5–15, with classes every Tuesday from 5:00pm to 5:45pm and 5:45pm to 6:30pm. Beginners classes start on Tuesday 8th of September, so now is the perfect time to step onto the mat, build confidence, learn new skills, and have a bit of fun along the way. Chair Pilates
Chair Pilates classes are held every Friday morning from 10.30 to 11.30am. Pull up a chair and give yourself a stretch, a smile and a great start to the weekend–no lycra, lunges, or Olympic level flexibility required! Contact Olivia on 085 8001328 for further information.

Self Defence Programme
If you thought that they might like to learn some Self Defence, then no need to look any further. Head along to Tullyallen Community Centre on Tuesdays, 8-9pm when classes start on 22nd September. You will learn how to recognize potential problems, manage confrontation, how to respond under pressure and escape safely. This is for over 16’s and no experience is needed in this small group. This is a self defence class that is focused on building awareness, confidence and practical skills in real world situations. For further details and to register your interest email [email protected]
Big Changes at Community Centre
There has been massive work going on behind the scenes in Tullyallen Community Centre and now it’s time to show off what’s new. The organizers would like to say a huge thanks to the Louth Leader Programme and our amazing community, everyone’s hard work has transformed the Community Centre space into a hub for sport, work, and connection.
They now have professionally marked courts for basketball, badminton, and pickleball, complete with all the gear you need – including height-adjustable basketball nets for all ages and skill levels. But they can now also offer their hot desk room with full fibre broadband that is perfect for remote working, plus a boardroom for up to 10 people to host your next big meeting or just relax in style and enjoy the new coffee area seating, which is the perfect spot to recharge, chat, or network. So, whether you’re there to play, work, meet, or unwind, Tullyallen Community Centre has the space, the facilities, and the welcome waiting for you. Parish News
Season of Creation: 1st September to 4th October. We are hoping to celebrate Mass for the Care of Creation (Missa pro custodia creation is during this time, and we will announce a date for this Mass. This Mass was approved by Pope Leo in 2025 and is encouraged to be celebrated during the Season of Creation. We will conclude the Season of Creation with our Harvest Weekend Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.

Our Parish choir returned from their summer break last Sunday, and sang at our 11am mass. Our Choir is seeking additional Choir Members. “Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.” — Psalm 100:2 “Music in our parish is not a performance, it is a vital liturgical ministry. Our Parish Choir invites you to prayerfully consider answering the call to serve God and our community by leading the congregation in prayerful song. Weekly Mass Ministry: Leading Sunday Liturgy 11am from September through June Solemn Feasts: Serving at Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and major solemnities Through sacred song, choir members help draw the faithful into deeper prayer, glorify God, and sanctify our worship. The next Rosary in our Cemetery: will be Sunday 4th of September at 2:30pm. We hold the Rosary in the Cemetery on the first Sunday of the Month and each Sunday in November at 2:30pm. All are welcome!
Rosary will be each Sunday at 10:40am before 11am Mass for the Month of the Rosary & Missions. Eucharistic Adoration is Friday evenings from 7pm before 7.30pm mass.

On Tuesday, 1st September the Morning Star hosted a jackpot draw worth €1,500 and the numbers were: 1, 11, 16, 22. There was no winner. The Lucky Dip Winners are Ruby Palace–Jennifer Healy, Milanos–Jim & Bridie Mooney, M & M Meats–Bob Daly & Inside Out–Sean Neilon. Next week’s jackpot is €1,600 which will take place in the Morning Star, Tuesday night. Dance Classes for Tullyallen
Good news for the kids that like to dance. Xtreme Style Academy are starting a brand-new class in Tullyallen Community Centre, starting next Wednesday 9th September. This will cover Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance, so lots of different styles are included. There will be 3 age groups catered for. Age 3-6 will be from 4 to 5pm, Age 7-10 is from 4pm and age 11+ is from 5 to 6pm. There will be Shows and Optional Hip Hop Competitions. What better way to have fun and build confidence. No pre-booking is required, just turn up on the day and registration will be sorted before the class or for further details have a look at Xtreme Style Academy’s facebook page XtremeStyleAcademy, or contact number 083-4516867.
Autumn Art Workshops in Tullyallen
Mary McDonnell Art Studio in Tullyallen has launched her Autumn Workshops and there are lots of different mediums to choose from. Saturday, 19th September, 10am to 4.30pm is Caricature Drawing with Morgan Landy. Learn how to draw caricatures of your loved ones, bring your own materials – pencil, felt tip & paper. This class costs €55 and there is a deposit of €20. Next up is Pastel Painting with Mary McDonnell on 3rd and 4th October, 10am to 4.30pm. Landscape, still life and portrait with chalk pastel (materials are provided) and this class costs €125 with a deposit of €50 payable in booking. If any of those two don’t suit you, why not try Garden Foraging with Carol Tully on 17th October, 10am to 5pm. Learn properties of plants for different uses (materials provided), this class costs €40 with a deposit of €20 on booking and finally Wire Sculpture with Glenn Gibson on 7th November, 10am to 5pm. There are so many classes to choose from, it might be hard to choose just one!

Why not go along and join the Irish Dancing Class in Tullyallen this September. It’s a great way to make new friends, have loads of fun and learn to dance in a welcoming, friendly environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love to dance, they would love to welcome you. Classes start Tuesday, 8th September 5pm to 6.15pm. This covers all ages and levels.
