Bray Divers sub-aqua club
Bray Divers sub-aqua club was established in 1984 and is based in Greystones Harbour. Membership is open to all over 14 years of age and dives are organised every week throughout the year.
Instructors and leaders are all unpaid volunteers who enjoy introducing people to the marine environment. All the training and certification has worldwide recognition. On Tuesday, October 1 the club will begin training courses, which will include lectures, plus swimming, snorkelling, and scuba training. For more details contact Albert on 0876756439.
Emergency services day
This year’s Emergency Services Day is taking place down at Greystones Harbour on Saturday, September 12 from 11am to 3pm, with reps from An Garda Síochana, the Fire Brigade, Irish Coast Guards, Civil Defence, RNLI, Greystones Community First Responders, the Poseidon Life Saving Club and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue.
New music course
A new evening class for the autumn, ‘Classical Music For Beginners’ starts at BIFE, Bray on Tuesday, September 22, from 7-9pm. You can enjoy great classical music with tutor Sean Kelly Conroy in a relaxed setting with audio visual illustrations. Class handouts are supplied and you can book at bife.ie.
Spaces on many courses on Tuesdays for autumn ‘26 are also available, including new courses in sewing and upcycling and Psychology with criminology, and the favourites such as yoga, guitar, acting, Spanish, Italian, French and Irish.
AI classes
On Tuesday, September 15 from 1.30pm to 3pm, Everyday AI takes place at Greystones Library, a hands-on programme to get you acquainted with the new tools, including Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT and Google Lens, with an emphasis on keeping your information safe from harm.
Bray Comhaltas
Bray Comhaltas has announced that from September 2026, traditional Irish music classes for children and adults will be held in Coláiste Ráithín, Bray and in Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath on Thursday evenings. New members are welcome. Please see braycce.ie or email [email protected]
Art exhibition
Running at Bray’s Signal Arts Centre, until Sunday, September 13, is Linda McCann’s Boulders, which looks at internal landscapes in Ireland using playgrounds and public green spaces as reference material.
Biodiversity workshops
Tidy Towns is running a series of evening classes (for adults only) every second Wednesday until October 28, with the next class on September 16. All classes are free and will take place at 7.30pm in Villa Pacis Parish Centre on the Vevay Road. There is no need to book, just turn up on the evening.
Comedy at the Horse and Hound Delgany
The new Horse and Hound Comedy Club will bring some of the best names in Irish comedy to the heart of the village, beginning with four weekly shows every Thursday throughout September, from 7-10pm.
Each show will also feature a selection of brilliant guest comedians. Joe Irish hits the stage on September 10, Aideen McQueen on September 17 and Father Ted star Joe Rooney on September 24. Tickets €17 from Eventbrite.
Teen disco
Happening on Friday, September, 18 at 8pm, the Surge Teen Disco takes place at Greystones Rugby Club and runs until 11pm. Aimed at 1st and 2nd year students, you can grab tickets, priced €21.50 from eventsgrfc.ie.
Let’s Misbehave: The Essential Cole Porter Songbook
The songs of Cole Porter are celebrated on a cool Sunday afternoon with singer Stella Bass and pianist Niall Kinsella, bringing such classics as ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘High Society’ to The Whale Theatre, Greystones, on Sunday, September 27, at 4pm. Booking open now with tickets priced €22.
Gaiety School in Greystones
The Gaiety School of Acting is launching a new term of Saturday drama workshops, running from October 3 to December 5 at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club.
With classes for ages four to 18, the drama workshops build confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment and are taught by professionally trained drama tutors.

The only free live music in Greystones is down at Danns, down in the harbour on Friday nights, with September kicking off Johnny Rayge on the 11th, Take 2 on the 18th and The Fisher Kings on the 25th, whilst Steve Belton’s Mojo Session kicks off October on the 2nd, The Myle Hi Klub on the 9th, Take 2 again on the 16th, The Big Muddy on the 23rd and Woodsy and co on the 30th.
Beating Time Singers
Meeting every Thursday at 8pm, Bray’s award-winning Beating Time Singers were founded in 1998, and today boast more than 25 members. Performing at events up and down the country, the ladies girls are always happy to welcome new members.
Choir callout
St Fergal’s Church, in Ballywaltrim, Bray, is looking for new singers. If you would like to join the choir please come to St Fergal’s Church on Mondays from 8pm. The choir usually sings at two masses per month.
Dip for Jigsaw
Jigsaw is inviting the community to take the plunge for youth mental health on Sunday, September 13 opposite Catalyst Coffee on Bray seafront. People of all ages and swimming abilities are welcome to join in and make a difference. The swim will take place fom 9am to 12pm.
Move for Parkinson’s Choir
The Move4Parkinson’s Voices of Hope Choir are singing in The Castle Inn, Bray on Sunday, September 20, from 7pm, for a fundraising evening.
Square One at 50
Square One Theatre Group is celebrating half a century of local theatre with a special anniversary showcase at the Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre on Saturday, September 12 at 7.30pm, produced by Noelle Clarke.
The one-night-only performance will bring together highlights, sketches, and characters from five decades of productions, while also offering audiences an exclusive preview of the group’s upcoming autumn staging of The Great Gatsby.

Small jobs service
Care and Repair Action provides small home maintenance jobs for older and vulnerable people living in the Bray and North Wicklow areas. The service aims to support people to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible by improving housing conditions and making homes more comfortable. Dargle, Cuala and East Coast Bridge clubs are seeking new members and have updated the contact the details. The three clubs are located in The Open Door Daycare Centre on the Vevay Road. Dargle Club meets on Wednesday night; East Coast on Thursday night; Cuala on Friday night.
