A section of a popular Tipperary walking trail is now closed for three months to facilitate resurfacing and widening works.
The Suir Blueway is set to be closed at two locations to facilitate resurfacing works.
The trail will be inaccessible from Ballynoran stud farm, which sits approximately 5km outside Carrick-on-Suir, as well as from MSD, which is approximately 7km outside Carrick-on-Suir.
The temporary closure is to facilitate widening of the path and resurfacing works on the section of the Suir Blueway.
Tipperary County Council said that the popular walking trail will be closed Monday to Friday over the period.
The path will remain open at weekends, reopening on Friday evenings and closing again early on Monday mornings.
Tipperary County Council apologised for any inconvenience that the blueway’s closure may cause to walkers and cyclists.
The Suir Blueway runs from Cahir to Carrick-on-Suir, via Clonmel, and opened in 2019 at a cost of €6million.
It has a 21 kilometre walking and cycling trail, as well as a further 32 kilometres of waterway that can be canoed or kayaked.
