The Inbetweeners are back as Netflix has announced production has begun on a third film.
The movie will be a continuation of the popular E4 sitcom which aired from 2008 to 2010, followed by two films in 2011 and 2014.
Actors Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will reprise their roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper.
The trailer announcing the film begins with a garage door being opened and pairs of feet making their way towards a car, revealed to be Simon’s yellow Fiat Cinquecento.
The four men are then seen in the car and Simon says “Ah, for f**** sake” when it fails to start.
He then gets the engine going and drives the car out of the garage with the number “3” written on the rear windscreen.
The trailer ends with the announcement: “Now in production.”
The Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris will return to write and direct the film.
Beesley and Morris said: “It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans.”
The coming-of-age comedy, which also starred Emily Atack, followed the misadventures of the four friends at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive as they navigated school life, friendship and failed sexual encounters.
The first film grossed £65.1 million and the second earned £46.6 million at the box office.
