Dundalk darts – Northend Bar Summer Series of Darts Final

After nearly 120 players competing over 10 weeks it was down to the last 16 in the final night of the Northend Bar Summer Series of Darts for the Paddy Dixon Cup.

The Dixon family did the draw for games and some cracking boards were drawn out and the best of seven in the earlier rounds saw plenty of darts thrown.

On Board One Jordan McInerney was drawn against Brian McArdle and despite Brian’s best efforts, Jordan would go onto win 4-1.

On the same board, Conor Dunn faced James Webb. After finishing his first year throwing competitively, on his day James can be a hard opponent to beat, but Conor would go through on a 4-1 scoreline.

On Board Two, the ever youthful Noel McMahon was drawn against young gun, Callum McCrave. Noel would use his years of experience to great effect to go through 4-2.

Also on Board Two, Conor McArdle got the better of Dylan Kirk to go into the knockout stages.

Board Three saw Darren Ludlow threw well to go through to the knockout stages after beating Jonny Knobloch 4-0 while Lee Smyth beat Barney Keenan to set up a last eight clash against his uncle, Darren Ludlow.

On Board Four Daniel Dunn and Gerry Rice both made it to the last eight with victories over Cian O’Rourke and Cara O’Shaughnessy respectively.

In the last eight, Conor Dunn was starting to get into his stride and beat Jordan McInerney 4-0; Conor McArdle saw off Noel McMahon 4-0 while Lee Smyth was taken the distance by his uncle Darren before going through to the semi-finals. The final last eight encounter saw Daniel Dunn and Gerry Rice’s game going to the deciding game with Daniel eventually going through.

The semi-final line up saw three of the top four rankings for finals night still in the competition with Gerry Rice narrowly losing out in the last eight.

Conor Dunn’s momentum would see him get past Conor McArdle and Daniel Dunn got the better of Lee Smyth with Daniel hitting a 147 checkout on route to the final.

In the all Dunn family final, Conor faced his uncle Daniel with 100+ scores hit on a regular basis by both players. However, it was Conor who claimed the family bragging rights winning 6-2 and be crowned the 2026 Summer Series of Darts Paddy Dixon Cup winner.

Presentation of the Paddy Dixon Cup was made by Mary Dixon and sponsor Sheila Meehan while a presentation was also made to Callum McCrave to mark his Big Fish Checkout in the Thomas and Richard Callan Perpetual Shield.

The Summer Series of Darts organisers would like to thank everyone who played in the Summer Series, all those who supported the competitions, all sponsors and particularly Sheila and Paul Meehan and the staff of the Northend Bar.
